There is a small social group that I meet with once a month and the challenge for next month was a canvas. I was excited because I had never completed a canvas before and was really looking forward to the challenge. This canvas was painted with metal bronze paint & then rust activator was used. This was a technique that Jessie showed me and I thought it was a good base for this project.August 7, 2007
My First Canvas
There is a small social group that I meet with once a month and the challenge for next month was a canvas. I was excited because I had never completed a canvas before and was really looking forward to the challenge. This canvas was painted with metal bronze paint & then rust activator was used. Complete Canvas
The finished canvas - chip board letters were sprayed with silver & copper krylon spray. Diamontes were added to 'Wish'. The 'Make A' are apoxy stickers. Pre-printed image was glued on top of gauze which was frayed and glued down as well. Then a coat of glue was added over the top of image and a silver corner sticker was used. I was very happy with the final result as I have never completed a canvas before. The colours I used were not what I would normally use, especially silver & copper together but very happy with it.

Mother of Pearl Swap
I have also used fine silver thread wrapped around just below my stamped image.

Using white gloss paper I brayered it with Kaleidacolor inkpad very randomly all over, spritzed with a fine spray of water. Use a heat tool to start drying process - when small pools are left, lift and continue drying to create runs. Blot excess and finish drying. Scrunch up into a really tight ball - carefully - then open it up, slightly flatten and swipe with gold encore metallic inkpad over the peaks. Using a hot, dry iron smooth out wrinkles. I've used the same technique on the Mother Of Pearl Swap, but I didn't crush it up.BACKGROUNDS
